About Your Accommodation
Accommodation at Africa on Foot Wilderness Trails offers an authentic yet comfortable safari camping experience in the heart of the big 5 Maseke Balule Game Reserve. After a day spent exploring the bush on foot, guests return to a fully set-up campsite surrounded by nature and the sounds of the wild.
Accommodation is in 4 classic dome-style safari tents, each equipped with comfortable swags/mattresses and suitable bed linen. These two-sleeper tents are designed to provide a simple and immersive bush experience while still offering comfort after a rewarding day on the trails.
The camp setup remains intimate and exclusive, accommodating a small number of guests to ensure a personal wilderness experience. Each campsite includes bush bathrooms, bucket showers, and a central mess tent that serves as the hub of camp life. Meals are prepared outdoors over the fire and enjoyed under the stars, creating a relaxed and authentic wilderness dining experience with guests gathered around the campfire.
Evenings are spent gathered around the campfire sharing stories of the day’s sightings, while mornings begin with fresh coffee and rusks before heading out on another unforgettable walking safari adventure.

Accommodation Information
- Each of the four dome tents can sleep two people comfortably on individual mattresses, made up with bed linen, duvets, and pillows.
- Each tent has an attached bathroom, which consists of a bucket shower and chemical toilet. A specially designed canvas panel is erected adjacent to the dome tent, creating an enclosed, yet open-air, bathroom facility. Water for the bucket showers is heated on the fire and filled for each shower.
- The canvas exterior of the tent is lined with fly screen mesh, which allows the canvas flaps to be opened while keeping the insects out.
- Comforts, such as bug spray and mosquito repellant, hand soap, and toilet paper are provided.
