Your Path into the Wild
Explore our most frequently asked questions and learn how Africa on Foot Wilderness Trails makes every safari seamless, authentic, and unforgettable.
How Can We Help?
How physically demanding is a mobile safari?
The walking safari is dependent on weather conditions and group dynamics. Guests walk about 3-5 hours a day, and the pace is set by the guide.
Is it safe to walk in the reserve amongst the Big 5?
The guides at AOF Wilderness Trails are highly trained. They carry rifles for safety reasons, and guests will receive a full safety briefing before it starts. One might not get as close as one would in a game vehicle; however, the evening game drives offer the chance to see the larger animals up close.
What wildlife can you expect to see during your time at AOF Wilderness Trails?
In the Maseke Balule Game Reserve, guests can see large mammals such as elephants, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, and rhinos, as well as predators like lions, leopards, and the Nile crocodiles, and various bird species.

Can Sun Destinations help me combine multiple lodges into one itinerary?
Absolutely. Many travellers choose to combine different properties within our Collection to experience contrasting landscapes, unique properties and different safari styles.
